We supply the Schuller range of high-quality laminate worktops, with a full selection of colours and finishes replicating marble and granite available. Laminate is a material well-known for worktop usage due to its durability and ease of care. Schuller can supply laminate worktops up to 5.1 metres in length thus reducing joints. As the current fashion trend in kitchens is to have matching units and worktops it is good practise to choose both from the same manufacturer to ensure accurate colour matching.
Another option would be to use a composite worktop, which is made from 90% natural quartz and then colourings and resins are added.
A new Silestone product called Hybriq+ is made from minerals, quartz and recycled glass. It is manufactured using renewable energy and recycled water, which makes it a much more sustainable worktop product (and it has a uniform colour, unlike natural granite where every slab has its own subtle differences.)
Dekton is another product from Cosentino, and one which is highly resistant to UV rays and has virtually zero porosity so stains such as red wine or coffee can be easily cleaned. It is extremely resistant to heat and virtually impossible to scratch.
Acrylic worktops such as Corian are designed with no obvious joints making them completely waterproof, hygienic and easy to clean. With an acrylic worktop it is also possible to have moulded upstands and a moulded sink, allowing for a seamless installation, and with Silestone and Dekton worktops it is possible to have drainer grooves, a matching sink or an undermounted stainless steel or coloured sink.
